Vetreria Vistosi celebrated its 60th birthday
Since five centuries ago the name Vistosi reminds of a whole generation of master glass makers and today it represents an uninterrupted experience in the Murano glass production in the area of Venice. This tradition survived the two world wars and has been passed from father to son for generations; in 1946 the brand reinvented itself introducing the production of handmade blown glass lamps. Since then, the most famous international designers such as Gae Aulenti, Michele De Lucchi, Angelo Mangiarotti, Vico Magistretti, Alberto Meda, Ettore Sottsass Jr. and many others accepted to put their talent at Vistosi?s disposal, mixing its ancient technique with their innovative forms and materials. In 1989 the brand Vistosi was acquired by the Moretti family who celebrated the 60th anniversary of the second foundation of the company inviting its customers to a party held in Venice in the afternoon of Sunday, June 25th, followed by a dinner at the "Cipriani" restaurant, on the Giudecca island. During the event it was also possible to assist to the awarding of the design competition sponsored by ADI and announced last year in Milan, during the 4 days that celebrated the continuous success of "Giogali", the combining hook designed by Angelo Mangiarotti and presented on that occasion in the "Giogali 3D" version, which allows to weave the modules and form three-dimensional structures. The celebration was concluded by a fireworks show organized by Vetreria Vistosi and seen by the guests from the terrace of the Excelsior Hotel in Lido di Venezia.
